Kwara cautions principals and head teachers against charging students a common admission charge

The Kwara State government has issued a warning that headmasters and principals will face sanctions if they solicit money from applicants or their parents for the common entrance exam that will take place on August 19, 2023.

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development issued the warning on Sunday in a statement in Ilorin.

The announcement reminded the general public that the placement examination (common admission) into junior secondary schools was set to take place on Saturday, August 19, 2023, beginning at 8 am prompt across the 16 local government districts of the state.The Kwara State Government has fully funded this exam, hence there is no cost to take it. Headteachers and principals are advised by the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development not to solicit money from students or their parents.

The ministry issued a warning: “Any head teacher or principal caught in such an unlawful act will be sanctioned accordingly.”

Additionally, students are recommended to study for the test because plagiarism will not be accepted.
