Godswill Akpabio, president of the Senate, has sent his congratulations to the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid el-Kabir.

He urged all Nigerians to have patience with President Bola Tinubu’s new administration, saying that with the necessary backing, it will bring about democratic benefits for all.

He celebrated the first Eid-el-Kabir as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria alongside President Tinubu.

He expressed his congratulations to the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, and the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, and noted that the season’s meaning, which emphasizes deference to God’s will and the value of sacrifice in daily life, should not be overlooked.

He also praised Nigerians’ tenacity and patriotism in the face of the nation’s present difficulties, adding that this is a necessary step in the nation-building process.

“President Tinubu has taken some bold steps which have been globally acclaimed as being in the right direction in just a few weeks since his inauguration,” he stated.

He reportedly made an earnest appeal to fellow Nigerians to look at the bigger picture of the projected consequences, be patient with the new government, and give it their entire support to get Nigeria out of the woods even though the measures cause inconveniences.

“The 10th National Assembly will do its utmost to provide President Tinubu-led government complementary support through necessary legislative interventions for the benefit of Nigerians,” the speaker declared.

He asserted that through law, the National Assembly would guarantee equity, justice, and inclusion for Nigerians.
