Jigawa State Government Forms Committees To Raise Money For Flood Relief

Two strong committees have been established by the Jigawa State Government to lessen the impact of flood catastrophes in the state.

The committees were formally established on Tuesday at Government House in Dutse, the state capital, by Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.

According to 460PLAY, around 133 persons died and N1.5 trillion worth of property was destroyed.

The state committee on flood disaster assessment, fund-raising, and the technical committee on flood mitigation are the two committees.

“The fundraising committee is tasked with gathering donations and providing palliative care to the state’s afflicted flood victims.

The technical group on flood mitigation is tasked with coming up with long-term solutions to the ongoing flooding that wreaks havoc on Jigawa state.

Over N500 million in flood relief supplies have already been donated to the Jigawa state government by the federal government, donors, and private citizens.
