Tijani Babangida, a former international, has been chosen to coach Enyimba for the Naija Super 8 competition.

The nine-time Nigeria Premier League champions will need Babangida’s encouragement, counsel, and support throughout the competition.

Lobi Stars will be coached by Mutiu Adepoju, Sporting Lagos will benefit from Jonathan Akpoborie’s mentorship, Akwa United will be coached by Ike Shorunmu, and Remo Stars of Ikenne will have the honor of being coached by Julius Aghahowa.

Others include Victor Ikpeba, the Yobe Desert Stars’ Victor Ikpeba, the 1997 African Player of the Year; Victor Ezeji will help Katsina United; and former Super Eagles captain Garba Lawal will help Rivers United.

The Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos is scheduled to host the beginning of the Naija Super Eight competition on July 7.

Two groups were created out of the eight clubs competing in the preseason event.

Enyimba, Sporting Lagos, Remo Stars, and Katsina United are the teams in Group A, while Akwa United, Rivers United, Yobe Desert Stars, and Lobi Stars are the teams in Group B.
