According to Gary Neville, a former Manchester United defender, Manchester City have a legitimate shot of winning the Premier League title in the remaining days of the season.
After Saturday lunchtime’s 3-0 victory over Bournemouth, Arsenal are remain atop the league.
Nonetheless, City bounced back a few hours later by thrashing Wolves 5-1.
As the season winds down, the Gunners’ advantage over the champs is just one point.
However, City will be in action next weekend as they visit Fulham.
Old Trafford is the site of Arsenal against. United.
Pep Guardiola’s squad has a chance to clinch the title before the season ends if Arsenal loses to Manchester United.
According to Neville’s podcast, if the championship fight does really reach the last day, Arsenal will have defeated Manchester United at Old Trafford.
We can make fun of Manchester United all we want, but if Arsenal can beat Manchester United at Old Trafford, it would be an incredible victory.
I don’t root for City or Arsenal, but I would love to see the championship competition all the way to the end. On the other hand, I worry that the title might be decided as soon as next Tuesday.
If United beat Arsenal on Sunday and City beat Fulham on Saturday (which I predict they will), my worst nightmare will come true.
Reason being, I would consider it an enormous improvement in performance if Arsenal were to go into the final day of the season having defeated Manchester United.
“Regardless, Arsenal has demonstrated that they are a different team than last year, but I can’t help but think that City will be flawless in the final games or close to them.”
