President Bola Tinubu got off to a good start in his first two weeks in office, according to Salihu Lukman, the Deputy National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), North West.

Lukman claimed the tempo he started with plummeted three weeks after he took office until now. He made this statement on Tuesday during an appearance as a guest on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily show.

The APC stalwart observed that the government was growing more and more by itself, and said that such actions were bad for the nation.

He acknowledged that during the campaign, the emphasis was on restoring optimism, but he regretted that things are getting worse for the people and that the president should be made aware of this.

“President Asiwaju got off to a strong start in his first two weeks in office.

“His approval rating skyrocketed. We all had a strong sense of assurance that he was approaching the problems the right way.

“We have seen a decline in the tempo and momentum with which matters are being handled after two weeks, three weeks later, to this point.

And, he continued, “I think we need to get back to that pace of the first two weeks of the administration.”

Lukeman pointed out that Tinubu’s strategy for the nation is obvious, and that the president and others around him may have been preoccupied with the selection of the ministers-designate.

Many of them, according to him, are dissatisfied because “this is not the Asiwaju we know.”

However, the APC leader argued that the president still has time to go back and implement the original strategy.

He emphasized the necessity to retrieve the President and expressed his conviction that a strategy had been in place from the outset.

He remarked, “Take advantage of party leaders’ connection to the administration so they may contribute ideas.

“I believe that the government is isolating itself more and more, and I believe that this is one of the main challenges.”

Although Lukman had submitted his resignation as the Deputy National Chairman of the APC, North West, the organization would not accept it.
