On Monday morning, fire ravaged the Kogi State House of Assembly building, which is located in Crusher Area, Lokoja.

The fire that ripped through the ceiling of the Chamber caused considerable damage to the floor.

The first visitors to the assembly building included Commander Jerry Omodara, the state security adviser, and Mathew Kolawole, the speaker of the house.

As of the time this report was submitted, no one had been able to determine what started the fire.

The Speaker of the Assembly stated that he believes there has been sabotage, although he did not specify where it may have originated.

When asked if it might have been connected to the recent events between the Assembly and the Dangote group, he responded that the security should make that determination.

The speaker remarked, “We should let security personnel handle their tasks and report back to us as we move on.”

However, a source who did not want his identity published said he believed there had been an explosion but was unable to identify any potential suspects.

Details to come…
