Manchester City, according to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, is the squad to beat this year.
This was said by Arteta during his press conference on Friday before the Community Shield match.
In the final weeks of the previous campaign, the Gunners’ attempt to challenge City for the title failed, and City ended up winning.
In the customary Wembley curtain-raiser on Sunday, Arsenal will now seek retribution.
We are competing against the squad to beat, so I’m quite excited to play in the trophy final.
“A new era for Arsenal, competing for every trophy, is what we desire. We must demonstrate that. We need to improve since what we did the previous year was insufficient to take home the big trophy.
For the sake of the fans, Arteta added, “We have to try to maintain the level and improve it.”
