The Yobe Assembly gives Gov. Buni 20 SAs

The Yobe State House of Assembly has agreed that the State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, can choose twenty special aides.

Wednesday, when the House was looking at a request from the executive branch, they gave their OK.

Hon. Nasiru Hassan Yusuf, who is the majority leader of the House, led the debate on the motion. He said that section 196 of the Constitution gave the House the right to approve the motion.

The House Leader says that putting in place special aides will help the Governor give the people of the state more benefits of democracy.

In their separate comments, Hon. Bulama Bukar, Hon. Adamu Dala Dogo, and Hon. Bukar Mustapha, who represent the Gujba, Karasuwa, and Geidam constituencies, said that the appointment of the special advisers would give the Governor more capable help in running the government.

The Speaker of the House, Rt. Honorable Chiroma Buba Mashio, ran the meeting and thanked the House members for their help and unity.

In another development, Alhaji Kalilu Bukar Geidam has been nominated to be a regular member of the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission, YOSIEC.

The nominee’s name has been sent to the House’s special committee for screening new officials.
