Six militants killed, according to Kaduna State Government

Six militants were neutralized and three suspects apprehended during special operations in Giwa LGA, according to the Kaduna State Government, which was corroborated by troops of 1 Division of the Nigerian Army and Operation Whirl Punch.

According to a statement released on Thursday by Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs of Kaduna State, the news was contained in an operational response sent by the military to the Kaduna State Government.

While forces were conducting a special combat patrol in the Galadimawa general area in Giwa LGA, he added, reliable intelligence information on terrorist activities in the area led to the achievement.

After the rebels fled the scene of the crime, the soldiers found a herd of rustled cattle abandoned near Sabon Sara hamlet, where they had taken up position.

He said that the soldiers found the livestock, returned them to the residents, and continued their approach. He also said that they saw militants at Galadimawa’s Market Square.

Six militants were neutralized by the army after a quick exchange of fire.

Troops arrested three individuals they believed were providing logistical support to criminal groups after conducting additional searches of the market area. According to the statement, four mobile phones and two motorbikes were also found.

Residents in frontline settlements in Kaduna State are being asked by the state government to keep providing timely intelligence to nearby security formations, even while military carry out special operations in the area and other potential targets.

Informants who supply terrorists with information on the whereabouts of security forces and residents are cautioned by the state government to stop doing so, as they are being pursued with great vigor for their punishment.
