Daniel Ogunmodede, head coach of Remo Stars, has stated that his team has a legitimate shot at winning the Nigeria Premier Football League championship this year.

The Ikenne team defeated Rivers United 2-1 at home on Monday, bringing them within one point of Rangers, who are now in first place.

Even though Rangers are now in first place, head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has downplayed his team’s title hopes.

Remo Stars will compete hard to win the championship, according to Ogunmodede.

“I believe it (the title) is within sight because my friend (Fidelis Ilechukwu) said they are still building. So, we are trying to capitalize on their construction while we go for the trophy,” Ogunmodede told the club’s media.

After a competitive season, the Sky Blue Stars came in at number two in the NPFL.
