Reports claiming Katsina United has been prohibited by FIFA from recruiting new players for the 2024–25 season have been refuted.

This was revealed by The Chanji Boys in a statement on X.

Reportedly, Katsina United’s ban resulted from their failure to pay previous players whose contracts were terminated.

According to Katsina United, they never got a letter from FIFA saying so.

“First, Katsina United has not received any official communication from FIFA regarding this matter,” the statement states.

“First, Katsina United has not received any official communication from FIFA regarding this matter,” the statement states.

The alleged letter was not sent to Katsina United’s current management, but rather to a former member of the club’s prior management.

But after contacting the player, the current administration has confirmed the situation and pledged to resolve it properly.

“It is noteworthy that the matter under discussion concerns a foreign player from the Niger Republic who filed a FIFA justice request after the previous administration failed to pay the player’s salary.

Resolving any unresolved matters from the previous administration is a top priority for the present management.
