WAFU U-17: Cote d’Ivoire and the Golden Eaglets fight for a spot in the AFCON

On Saturday night (today), the WAFU B U-17 Championship semi-final match between Cote d’Ivoire and Nigeria will decide who would represent Africa in the 2024 U-17 Cup of Nations.

The University Stadium in Accra will host the match. The start time is 9 o’clock in the evening Nigerian time.

After a disappointing opening-game tie with Burkina Faso, the Golden Eaglets have bounced back to earn a spot in the round of 16.

The team managed by Manu Garba won both of their group stage matches, a 1-0 win over Niger Republic and a 3-0 drubbing of Togo.

The reigning winners have not let in a single goal thus far in the tournament.

With seven points after three games, the defending winners from the world cup topped Group B, while Burkina Faso took second.

In the semi-final, Burkina Faso will face host nation Ghana.
