The alleged nonpayment of Portable’s luxury vehicle, the G-Wagon, led to his arbitrary detention on Tuesday.

The singer of “Zazzu” was supposed to pay for a Mercedes Benz GLE 350 that he bought from a Lagos vehicle dealer named Temmy Autos, but he never paid him in full.

After buying the vehicle—worth N27 million—Portable allegedly paid only N13 million. Reportedly, he adamantly refused to pay the outstanding sum of N14 million.

According to SP Benajmin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the Lagos State Police, the singer was released on Wednesday night, according to Vanguard.

One thing I can tell you is that he has been given bail,” the spokesperson continued in response to a question about whether or not Portable had resolved the concerns.
