In anticipation of what is likely to be a pivotal point in the season, the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has declared that its schedule would be rearranged.
After matchday 34, the NPFL has announced that the season would come to a stop so that Rivers United may play their remaining matches.
The CAF Confederation Cup has left Rivers United with a plethora of unfinished business in terms of matches.
The team led by Stanley Eguma was knocked out of the tournament two weeks earlier in an aggregate loss of 2-1 against the reigning champions, USMA of Algeria.
The participation of certain NPFL clubs in the Federation Cup also contributed to the necessity of the reorganization.
The schedule for matchdays 35 through 38 will be adjusted at a later time.
Next month should see the conclusion of the 2023–24 NPFL season.
