American hip-hop artists Bow Wow and Ja Rule have talked about their admiration of the popular afrobeats genre of music from Nigeria and West Africa.

The pair promoted afrobeats while gushing about Burna Boy and Tems, two of the genre’s biggest stars, in separate interviews with Black Entertainment Television on Sunday at the BET Awards.
Bow Wow stated that he like the afrobeats mood and the way that young people move to the music.

“The ladies are lit whenever they move to the [afrobeats] songs,” he remarked. The mood is great. When the sun is setting and I’m on a boat, that’s when I prefer to listen to afrobeats. I simply adore it. The latest Burna Boy album is good.
Ja Rule claimed that he enjoys listening to afrobeats music because it makes him feel at home.
