Goalkeeper David Raya was hailed by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta as a “crucial” player in Saturday’s 2-0 Premier League win over Wolves.

After keeping a clean sheet in the match against Wolves, Arteta praised the Spain international, saying he was superb.

The Premier North London club came away with all three points at Molineux with to goals from Leandro Trossard and Martin Odegaard.

After this win, Arsenal regained their position as Premier League leaders.

In his post-match press conference, Arteta responded to the question of how important Raya was to Arsenal’s victory over Wolves by saying, “Very, because we didn’t concede anything up to that point.” There were a few golden opportunities that might have decided the game for us.

David made a spectacular stop at the last second, and we capitalized on it.

His consistency throughout the season has been outstanding, in my opinion. The data supports that.

I too thought the first goal’s timing was great. Extremely happy.
