Samuel Ortom, the immediate-past governor of Benue State, has advised his followers who are criticizing Governor Hyacinth Alia’s leadership to keep calm.

According to 460play, the current administration has accused Ortom and those who collaborated with him of stealing from the state’s coffers.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, invited the former governor on June 21, 2023, about the charges.

Similar to this, it is claimed that the former governor turned over some state-owned property.

Ortom’s followers have persisted in making disparaging remarks against the incumbent governor and his team after becoming frustrated with what they described as harassment.

But Ortom advised the fans to maintain their composure and added that they should not inflame the political climate in a statement released on Wednesday by his media assistant, Terver Akase.

The former governor asserted that he has always made clear his belief in the rule of law and that he is capable of replying to the accusations brought against him and other members of the previous administration.

He reaffirmed his willingness to be accessible whenever necessary to address anything touching on his administration.
