In Zamfara, the NSCDC establishes the Safe Schools Response Squad

The Safe School Initiative program of the Commandant-General, Dr. Abubakar Ahmed Audi, aims to revamp, restructure, rejig, rejuvenate, and reposition the Corps in line with international best practices. The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has officially launched the Safe School Response Squad in the State under the program.

Commandant Sani Mustapha of the State NSCDC asserted that the squad’s initial launch was in response to the instructions and marching orders issued by Audi at the most recent quarterly meeting, which was held at the National Headquarters in Abuja.

He reaffirmed his intention to fully abide by the Commandant-General of the Corps’ directive. To this purpose, Mustapha has given the Safe Schools Response Squad an official vehicle and everything necessary assistance.

He added that the state government has been holding fruitful conversations about how to set up a facility for the Corps as a base of operations in Zamfara State.
