Balogun moved to Monaco for €40 million this week.

The American striker spent the previous season on loan with Reims before returning to Ligue 1.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Arteta acknowledged that Balogun didn’t have room in his team.

“We did not have enough room on the roster for him to receive the minutes he required.

“He desired the opportunity to advance his profession. Happy for him a lot.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, two of Arsenal’s Premier League rivals, were also interested in Balogun.
