Messi and Mbappé established themselves during the World Cup, whereas Haaland did so through the Champions League. According to Giresse (via French Football Weekly), “These players emerge from significant competitions that put them in the spotlight more than others.”
They also possess the skills necessary to place them in the top three on a personal level.
Then, who is left to add? Not simple. Argentina? No. French group? No. London City? Last year, De Bruyne finished third in the triumvirate. It’s challenging; I can’t think of any alternatives. a preferred? It will be played between Messi and Mbappé.
