Euro 2024: Lampard discloses that England’s players are absent

Luke Shaw, a left-back, is absent from the Three Lions of England for the 2024 European Championship, according to Chelsea veteran Frank Lampard.

Shaw was selected by England boss Gareth Southgate for The Three Lions, although the Manchester United player has not yet played for the group at Euro 2024.

Since February, Shaw has been recovering from a hamstring injury that has prevented him from playing for the Red Devils.

He will also miss England’s opening two Euro 2024 matches due to the injury.

“For him [Southgate], not having a left-sided natural left-back has been a big deal because, when I watched the last tournament with Luke Shaw in it, that felt really good, According to Lampard, on BBC Radio 5 (via Metro).

“We could have a balance where Kyle Walker could remain longer and create this three at the back. Luke Shaw was much more attacking on that side of the ball.

“After that, you would have the two and have the attacking players with the left-hand threat between the lines. That is something we haven’t had, and it’s a problem Southgate will want to address.
