Gilberto Silva, a former Arsenal player, has spoken highly of Kai Havertz’s growth this season.
Silva praised the 24-year-old, saying he has been an asset to the Gunners and a great teammate.
Last summer, Havertz was acquired by Arsenal from Chelsea, a Premier League competitor.
Under manager Mikel Arteta, the German national team player saw action primarily in the middle of the field, though he did get time as a center forward on occasion.
Havertz had a slow start with Arsenal, appearing in all 12 of their Premier League games but managing just one goal and an assist.
According to Silva (as reported by The Boot Room), “he has been brilliant” in his new job, which is distinct from his usual work.
Some think it’s not Arsenal’s style when you come from Chelsea. He refuses to be a part of the squad.
Both he and Mikel had some early struggles figuring out where they were most effective. They both had finally discovered it after much perseverance and persistence. Despite some early setbacks, Kai has been an invaluable member of the squad.
As of this point in the season, Havertz has 11 goals and 5 assists in 23 league games.
