Ten Hag reportedly requested that the Man United management approve a transfer for Goretzka, who is presently playing for Bayern Munich, according to El Nacional.
The Dutchman believes that Goretzka is the perfect midfielder to complete his midfield with Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes.
Manchester United is prepared to make a formal move for Goretzka, who was previously associated with Real Madrid, as a result.
Bayern Munich values Goretzka at €65 million.
Since joining Bayern from FC Schalke in 2018, the Germany international has long been one of the team’s most valuable players.
In 179 games across all leagues, Goretzka has helped the Bundesliga champions with 34 goals and 35 assists.
