After the Blues’ recent Premier League loss to West Ham United, former Manchester City defender Micah Richards named Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling as the player who most impressed him.

Richards referred to Sterling as a “star,” noting that the England international had regressed a few years and returned to his peak performance.

Sterling struggled in his first season at Chelsea (2022-23) after moving from Manchester City.

In 38 appearances across several tournaments, he scored nine goals and contributed four assists.

Sterling was a star for me, Richards remarked on the The Rest Is Football podcast. Sterling did a great job. Sterling from two years ago was like this.

“Many people claimed he couldn’t play on the right; nonetheless, a lot of his best work was done by jinking and jiving down that right.

Good results occasionally. If only someone had been there to store it.
