Distress: Kate Henshaw condemns Tinubu government’s decision to play the old national anthem

The move by the present administration to reintroduce the old national anthem has been met with disapproval by Nollywood star Kate Henshaw.

Her main complaint was with the timing of the transition; she wanted to know how the revival of the old song would address the country’s problems.

An “excoriating hardship and lack of good governance on every level” is what the country is experiencing, according to the movie star.

“Amidst the excruciating hardship and lack of good governance on every level, going back to a colonial anthem will be a soothing balm and inject patriotism into our veins, a much needed drug,” she commented sarcastically on her X account.

Henshaw said, “The labour of our heroes past… o ti lo [is gone].” in an additional post.

In an effort to bring back the traditional national song, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee,” President Bola Tinubu formally approved the National Anthem Bill 2024 on Wednesday, as reported by 460PLAY.
