Despite a joint security agency in Kano State stating that they are enforcing a court order against the monarch’s restoration, this situation has occurred.

Hundreds of adoring citizens shouted as Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II rode magnificently on horseback from the inner palace to the outer palace, the usual meeting place for the emir and his subjects, as well as for court sittings.

Before telling reporters that “nobody can change their position on the reinstatement of Muhammadu Sanusi II because they did it legally,” the state’s deputy governor, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, had this to say:

“Anything coming from the court on that matter is already late,” he said, adding, “because the so-called court order banning them from reinstating Sanusi was not officially submitted to them and because they did the reinstatement after working hours.”
