According to information released by the Oyo State Government, 156,979 students took part in the screening and placement process for primary six students transitioning into the state’s public Junior Secondary School One (JSS 1) in 2023.
On Monday, the administration disclosed this information.
It claimed that students from 503 different centers took part in the activity.
These discoveries were made by Prince Dotun Oyelade, the Commissioner of Information and Orientation, in a statement that was made accessible to 460play.
He mentioned that the practice had been on Monday.
Additionally, a ministry team and the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Professor Salihu Abdul Waheed, kept an eye on the exercise in a few locations across the city of Ibadan.
Ikolaba Grammar School in Ikolaba, Army Barracks Grammar School on Iwo Road, and Community Grammar School in Ibadan were a few of the locations visited.
Other schools in Ibadan include Lagelu Basic Special School, Iyana Church, Monatan High School, and Bishop Phillips Academy.
The commissioner praised the smooth operation and mentioned that the centers were quiet and free of fraud.
