World Cup Qualifying Round: Burkina Faso Hosts Flamingos in Bamako

In Saturday’s opening leg of their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifying match in Bamako, Burkina Faso held Nigeria’s Flamingos to a 1-1 draw.

Ten minutes after halftime, Bankole Olowookere’s squad gained the lead thanks to Chidi Harmony.

Near the end of the game, the home team’s Rainata Oubda scored an equalizer.

The second leg matchup between the two clubs will take place next Saturday at Abuja’s Moshood Abiola Stadium.

To the final round of qualifications, it is up to the overall winners.

At the most recent FIFA U-17 World Cup, which was held in India, Nigeria came in third place.

The following year’s tournament will take place in the Dominican Republic.
