‘Titanic’ and ‘Lord of the Rings’ star Bernard Hill, a veteran of the British acting industry, has died at 79 years of age.
Lou Coulson, Hill’s agent, verified the story and said that Hill passed away on Sunday morning with his son Gabriel and fiancée Alison at his side.
After appearing in the 1982 BBC TV drama ‘Boys from the Blackstuff,’ Hill became famous.
His performance of Captain Edward Smith in the 1997 Oscar-winning film “Titanic” and King Théoden in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy brought him worldwide renown.
