Murat Sancak, president of Adana Demirspor, has disclosed why Henry Onyekuru was given a long-term deal by the Turkish Super Lig team.

Onyekuru transferred from Olympiacos of the Greek Super League to Adana Demirspor last summer while on loan.
But this week, the change became permanent.

Olympiacos received €3.5 million from the Blue Lightnings, and the forward committed to a three-year deal.
“We had to exercise the option to permanently purchase Onyekuru. We agreed to do that should we be eligible to play in Europe, according to the terms of our deal, Sancak told the club’s official website.

In 30 appearances for Adana Demirspor last season in all competitions, the 26-year-old netted eight goals and two assists.
