The 2024 Staff Promotion Examination has been postponed indefinitely by the National Examinations Council (NECO).

Reactions were produced by the examination that was set to take place in Minna, Niger State on February 14th and 15th, 2024.

Staff members who are eligible for promotions were instructed by the exam body to report to its offices between January 13, 2024, and January 15, 2024.

The workforce, however, protested the development because of the widespread instability in the country.

The postponement was done in accordance with the directive of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Basic Examination Bodies, according to a statement released on Friday by Azeez Sani, Acting Director, Directorate of Information and Digital Communication.

Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, Registrar/CE of NECO, has been invited to meet with the Committee on Monday, February 19, 2024.

“Everyone on the NECO staff who was supposed to be promoted this year should be informed that the process has been halted indefinitely due to this development,” he added.
