Primate Elijah Ayodele, head of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, asked Nigerians to stop criticizing and shaming President Bola Tinubu over the country’s economic crisis on Tuesday.

He instead asked Nigerians to pray for Tinubu and his ministers, saying that they were bewildered by the country’s current predicament.

Primate Ayodele recently made a remark through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, in which he hinted that the country’s economy could collapse within the next two weeks unless the present problem is resolved.

In order to have the wisdom to turn things around for the betterment of Nigerians, the prophet said that instead of cursing and revolting against leaders, the people should pray for them.

According to the preacher, curses will make things worse for Nigerians, thus they should pray that God will spare them from their tribulation.

Nothing will change if we curse President Tinubu and the powerful. Since we all want Nigeria to improve, Nigerians should get in the habit of praying for their leaders. I cautioned Nigerians against voting for the APC, but they disregarded my warnings and are now experiencing the consequences of their actions. Praying for our leaders is the only solution, not protests or harsh words.

Without a resolution to our current problems, particularly with price control, the Nigerian economy might collapse in the coming two weeks. When we find out that everyone is going on strike, we’ll know that the economy is in shambles and nobody wants to sell anything again. We should have listened before we got to this point, and now we’re just going to curse instead. He pleaded with God to have mercy on our nation and its leaders.

Primate Ayodele, as you may recall, had previously urged the government to slash food prices to alleviate poverty. In order to stem the economic tsunami, he said the government should prioritize issues like agriculture, power, and insecurity.

“In order for Nigeria to become great in 2024, the government must focus on five areas: (1) ensuring stable lighting; (2) strengthening security and purchasing more weapons; (3) developing infrastructure facilities; (4) ensuring an abundant food supply from agriculture; and (5) creating jobs,” the cleric remarked.
