Hours were spent during the exercise, which began at Obiagu Road and spread to other parts of the State, while members of the church cleaned down gutters and trash dumps.

Following the exercise, Mr. Lawrence Njoku, Chairman of the Chapel, stated that the members had started the cleanup to send a message to the public.

He asked people living in the state to always bag their trash and to stay away from littering the streets and garbage dumps.

“Bagging the garbage properly will make it easier for the evacuators to perform their tasks and stop the spread of disease in the state.

He stated, “We conducted the exercise to make the inhabitants aware that they are obliged to maintain a clean environment and to dispose of their waste properly at the disposal site.

He claimed that we are doing this to save the environment and that it is one of our press week programs.
