Players from Ekiti United protest the team’s failure to pay them

Ekiti United, a team in the Nigerian National League, has seen its players go on the offensive due to the non-payment of their salary.

The athletes allegedly haven’t gotten their paychecks in three months.

They said the club’s leadership was trying to undermine the Ekiti State Government’s initiatives.

Ekiti United are fighting for their league position right now.

Twenty games into the season, they’re up 23 points.
