NYSC is crucial to the electoral process in Nigeria – Michael, governor of Bauchi

The government of Bauchi State is fully committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of Corps members, according to Governor Bala Mohammed.

While speaking at Tuesday’s swearing-in ceremony for members of the 2024 Batch “A” Stream 1 Corps at the permanent Orientation Camp in Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area, the governor made the promise.

Deputy Mohammed Jatau paid tribute to the NYSC members’ long history of helping to ensure fair elections, and Mohammed himself said that his government is still dedicated to improving the program.

“We hope this exercise is more intense and thorough than ever before, and the government is grateful for all the training agencies’ efforts.”

According to the governor, NYSC has instilled in young people a work ethic, patriotism, dedication to one’s country, and a sense of duty to one’s service over the years.

He asserted that the good impact of corps members’ activities on the country’s socio-economic development through community efforts is obvious.

The orientation training, according to Rifkatu Yakubu, the state coordinator of the NYSC, is designed to help the 1,276 corps members (including 697 men and 579 females) psychologically, physically, and emotionally prepare for their service year.
