Posted by The administration of the University of Ilorin has warned the public about the latest scams perpetrated by con artists using phony social media profiles made in the name of the vice chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN.
According to a statement released by the management in Ilorin on Thursday, fraudsters pose as the Vice Chancellor and solicit money from the public using phony social networking sites including WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Messenger.
To be clear, Prof. Egbewole is not active on any of those social networking sites.
“Members of the public should, therefore, be wary of the antics of these unscrupulous elements and be adequately guided not to fall for their pranks,” the management advised.
