Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) nominee for president in the 2023 election, has said that the alleged inaccuracies found in President Bola Tinubu’s certificate support his finding.
According to DAILY POST, Tinubu’s attorneys acknowledged errors in the academic certificate that the President submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday in response to Atiku’s petition in a federal court in Chicago, Illinois, United States, and blamed the clerk of Chicago State University (CSU) for those errors.
The former vice president claimed in a statement on Saturday that documents provided by his lawyers in the US and Nigeria revealed unsettling anomalies and logical fallacies in Tinubu’s university academic credentials.
For instance, one of the documents is the certified true copy of the certificate Tinubu submitted to INEC on June 17, 2022. According to Atiku’s attorneys, “this, purportedly, is the certificate issued to him by Chicago State University (“CSU”) showing that he attended the school and evidencing the degree he was awarded.
“A copy of a letter from Mr. Caleb Westberg, the Registrar of CSU, dated September 22, 2022, is included in another document. It includes a copy of the certificate given to Bola Tinubu in acknowledgement of the degree he received from the institution.
“There is another document, a copy of the certificate that Mr. Westberg provided in answer to the subpoena that CSU received on Bola Tinubu’s academic credentials and accomplishments.
“There is also a copy of Dr. Niva Lubin-Johnson’s biography. From January 2001 until December 2002, Dr. Lubin-Johnson served as the chairman of the CSU Board of Trustees.
Also included is a copy of Dr. Elnora D. Daniel’s bio. Dr. Daniel presided the CSU as president from 1998 until 2008.
A closer look at these documents reveals an intriguing fact: even though they all refer to Tinubu’s academic credentials from Chicago State University, they all include different information.
