Moyes attributes Western’s 5-0 loss to Chelsea on Declan Rice’s departure

David Moyes, manager of West Ham United, has blamed Declan Rice’s departure for his club’s dismal road record.

The £105 million amount that Rice paid to join Arsenal last summer was unbelievable.

The Gunners’ championship push this season would not have been possible without the English midfielder.

He was voted the game’s most valuable player after scoring a goal and setting up another as his team defeated Bournemouth 3-0 on Saturday.

However, Moyes sat on the sidelines as his team lost 5-0 to Chelsea the next day.

“Declan Rice” was Moyes’s response when questioned about West Ham’s poor play this season.

An improved defensive unit is the result of fielding the nation’s top midfielder, who can presumably prevent half of their assaults.

“In many games, we have not been good enough at protecting the area in front of our back four, defending adequately, or both.”
