The midfielder, who has been widely linked with a summer return to Italy, confirmed his decision to stay at the Emirates.
According to rumors, the Italy international is looking for a new team because Declan Rice will soon be joining Arsenal.
Less than six months have passed since the Brazilian-born midfielder’s switch from Chelsea to the Gunners.
The midfielder, who is 31 years old, claimed he has no plans to leave and is excited about his first full season at Arsenal, where he intends to once more contend for the top prizes.
“To be honest, I was surprised but really happy by how welcome I was [and] how (Arsenal) treated me when I came in,” he admitted to the Evening Standard.
“To be honest, I’m quite glad to continue at Arsenal. To be completely honest, I have no idea who was behind those rumors.
