The Navy changes the appointments of 56 officers

The appointments of top senior commanders, including 56 Rear Admirals and a Commodore, have been changed by the Nigerian Navy.

Rear Admiral Olusanya Bankole, formerly the Director of Logistics, Defence Space Administration, has been appointed as the Chief of Communications and Information Technology, Naval Headquarters. Rear Admiral Alexander Bingel, formerly the Director Combat Policy and Tactics, has been promoted to the position of Director of Logistics, Defence Headquarters, according to a statement released on Thursday by Commodore Adedotun Ayo-Vaughan, the Director of Information.

Rear Admiral Ibrahim Dewu, who was previously the Director of Project Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate, Naval Headquarters, is now the Chief of Defence Civil Military Cooperation, according to the statement, and Rear Admiral Kennedy Ezete, who was previously the Director of Project Monitoring, Defence Headquarters, is returning to his previous position as the Chief of Administration, Naval Headquarters. Rear Admiral Musa Madugu, formerly the Deputy Director of Special Operation Forces at the Defence Headquarters, has been appointed as the Admiral Superintendent Naval Ordinance Depot. Rear Admiral Livingstone Izu, who served as Director Manning at Naval Headquarters, has been named the new Chief of Logistics, Naval Headquarters.

The statement went on to say that Rear Admiral Zakariya Muhammad, the former Director of Training at Naval Headquarters, has been reappointed Chief of Training and Operations, and that Rear Admiral Daupreye Matthew, the former Director of Innovation and Concept Development at Naval Headquarters, is now the Director of Training at Defence Headquarters.

Rear Admiral Ibrahim Shettima, formerly the Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command, is moving to Defence Headquarters to serve as Director of Plans, while Rear Admiral Emmanuel Nmoyem has been reappointed as Director of Human Rights Desks at Defence Headquarters.

Rear Admiral Monday Unurhiere, a former director of plans at Naval Headquarters, has reportedly been named the chief of defense administration there. Rear Admiral Hamza Kaoje, a former director of equipment standardization and harmonisation at Defence Headquarters, has been named group managing director of Navy Holdings Limited, among other positions.
