Ini Obong Okon, a midfielder for Bendel Insurance, won a gold medal for scoring the best goal during the Naija Super 8 zonal playoffs.
Okon tied the score with a beautiful volley in the 71st minute of the game before Rivers United scored the game-winning goal in injury time.
Following the loss, Insurance was denied a spot in the Naija Super 8 playoffs.
The goal was chosen as the finest of the zonal playoffs by the preseason competition’s organizer.
Victor Ikpeba, a former Super Eagles forward, gave the player the trophy.
Okon also had the honor of taking part in the Naija Super 8 playoffs draw ceremony.
