Hojlund’s transfer to Manchester United is ultimately confirmed with a £72 million fee

Rasmus Hojlund will be joining Manchester United after a deal was reached between that club and Atalanta.

On Saturday, the Serie A team that Hojlund plays for did not include him in the group that plays a preseason friendly against Bournemouth.

He will set the Red Devils back an initial £64 million, with a further £8 million possible in add-ons.

The 20-year-old player has already reached an agreement with the club over personal terms, and he will sign a five-year contract that includes an option for an additional year.

With this acquisition, United’s total spending for the summer comes to £179 million.

Mason Mount and Andre Onana were brought in by Erik ten Hag prior to the arrival of Hojlund.

Ten Hag made Hojlund his first priority as it became abundantly evident that Tottenham would not compromise on their valuation of Harry Kane, which is now set at £100 million.
