Tuesday night, the kidnappers attacked a commercial bus that was going from Owerri to Port Harcourt. The bus was on its way back to Port Harcourt from Owerri.
Another commercial driver who saw what happened said that the driver was shot in the leg before the passengers were taken to a nearby forest.
An eyewitness said that the driver was taken to the hospital right away for medical care, but the kidnapped people haven’t been found yet.
He said that the matter had been reported to the Elele police division in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Rivers State Police Command said it is waiting to hear more about what happened from the police division where it happened.
A few days ago, people on another commercial bus were taken along the Emohua-Kalabari stretch of the East West road.
