The governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, has guaranteed appropriate security and welfare for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) participants during their service year.

He claimed that the government’s top goals continue to be ensuring the safety and welfare of corps members so they may continue to serve the country.

Gov. Diri provided this guarantee while presiding over the 2023 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Orientation Course’s conclusion ceremony at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Boro Town. Gov. Diri was represented by his executive assistant on NYSC affairs, Wisdom Poyeri.

According to him, the administration will keep creating an atmosphere that allows corps members to enjoy their year of service in Bayelsa State.

He instructed all security organizations in the state to give NYSC participants sufficient security and issued warnings about tardiness, absenteeism, and redundancy.

Mrs. Okpalifo Obiageli Charity, the state’s NYSC coordinator, had earlier congratulated the corps members and camp staff for their strict behavior, which had made sure that the orientation course went off without a hitch.

She also urged NYSC participants to follow in the footsteps of their forebears by doing their jobs with diligence, highlighting the significance of both primary and secondary assignments.
