Ex-AIG executive appointed by Makinde to lead Amotekun board in Oyo

Sikiru Kayode Akande, a retired assistant inspector general of police, has been named the board chairman of the Oyo State Security Network Agency, commonly known as Amotekun, by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.

On Monday, the governor disclosed this information.

Additionally, Makinde declared that he has renewed the appointments of all other board members of the security firm.

He announced that Mrs. I.E. Akibode, a civil servant, would be the board’s secretary.

Makinde urged the incoming chairman and the board members to view their appointments as a call to greater service in a letter that was signed by his chief of staff, Segun Ogunwuyi.

The governor continued by mentioning that the Executive Assistant on Security to the Governor, Commissioner of Police Sunday Odukoya (retd), and the Special Adviser on Security to the Governor, Commissioner of Police Fatai Owoseni (retd), are both statutorily-appointed members of the board.

Other members of the board, according to the letter made available to 460play through the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, are Col Bisiriyu Olayinka Olayanju, Mrs Hamzat Khadijat Ronke, Samson Ogunlowo, Commissioner of Police in the state, Oba Sunday Oladapo Oyediran, R.A. Babalola, Sunday Odukoya, and representatives of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
