Died at the age of 81: Actress Ovularia of “The New Masquerade”

The popular 80s TV sitcom “The New Masquerade” star Madam Elizabeth Evoeme, who was known as “Ovularia” on the show, has died at the age of 81.

A family member verified Ovularia’s death, saying that she passed away with her loved ones at her side. She was born on December 1, 1942.

The family of Evoeme Emekalam sent a message on social media, thanking fans, friends, and coworkers for their support while requesting privacy at this difficult time.

Justina Ngozi Evoeme, a London-based daughter of Ovularia, expressed her astonishment and sadness at her mother’s death by saying, “I need to get my head around what has happened.”

This news arrives precisely four and a half years after November 5, 2019, the rumor mill began circulating that Ovularia had passed dead. Back then, Churchill Ebhodaghe’s Twitter tweet started rumours about her demise, which she later denied.

In 2019, Ovularia addressed the rumors by confirming that she was not gravely ill and by denouncing the fake stories’ perpetrators, saying that they should be punished.

‘The New Masquerade,’ star Chika Okpala (who plays Chief Zebrudaya Okoroigwe Nwaogbe) also shot down the claims and said Ovularia was OK at the time.
