Calls and visits are being refused to me — Drug lord El Chapo of Mexico screams from prison in the United States

The Mexican drug kingpin Joaquín “El Chapo,” also known as Guzmán, has claimed that the officials in the US maximum security prison where he is serving a life sentence are blocking his access to the outside world.

Judge Brian Cogan of the Eastern District of New York’s district court heard El Chapo’s case.

Since his incarceration, he has been unable to communicate with his twin girls, which he lamented.

“I haven’t had calls with them for seven months,” El Chapo said, adding that the institution blocked him from calling his daughters.

Staff here informed me that the FBI agent who answers the calls does not answer when I inquired when my daughters and I will receive a call. That is all they have informed me.

“I humbly request that you grant her permission to visit me and accompany my daughters, as they are currently studying in Mexico and can only visit me during school breaks.”

Refusing to communicate with the outside world constituted “unprecedented discrimination,” according to El Chapo.

They have chosen to penalize me by not allowing me to talk to my girls, which is unprecedented prejudice, he continued.
