Bello Bodejo, the leader of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, is set to be on trial on May 29 at the Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Inyang Ekwo.
Following the rejection of Bodejo’s bail application, this ruling was made.
Bodejo, who is accused of terrorism-related offenses, missed the prior court date, which postponed the start of the trial.
Ahmed Raji, his attorney, gave the court the reassurance that his client was ready for the impending trial.
Raji said that since the court ordered a quick hearing, there wouldn’t be an instant appeal against the bail decision.
Remember that the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) seized Bodejo on suspicion of organizing the ethnic militia Kungiya Zaman Lafiya?
Bodejo, who was charged in March under the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022, has refuted all of the allegations.
On the basis of his poor health and basic rights, his attorney had already requested bail; however, Justice Ekwo denied the request.
