At the moment, Vice President Kashim Shettima is leading a meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. They are talking about problems that are important to the Nigerian economy right now.
Nearly all of the State Governors are at the meeting, which started a few minutes ago in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa.
NEC is made up of the 36 governors of the country, the ministers in charge of finance, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mele Kyari, and others.
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, his partner Abdullahi Sule from Nasarawa State, and Barrister Ifeanyi Ossai, who is the deputy governor of Enugu State, arrived early for the 11 a.m. meeting.
Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahya, Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawan, Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda, Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti, Chundung State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu are also there.
Others are Senator Bala Mohammed from Bauchi, Senator Uba Sani from Kaduna State, Sheriff Obrevwori from Delta, Nasir Idris from Kebbi, Prof. Charles Soludo from Anambra, Godwin Obaseki from Edo, Deputy governor of Kogi State David Onoja from Jigawa State, Mai Mala Bunu from Yobe State, Duoye Diri from Akwa Ibom, Umo Eno
